On Sunday, President
Bush announced a federal plan to qualify gay marriages as 3/5 a marriage, urging Congress to push a bill through as quickly as possible. "I think that the sancti-... sanctities-... um... see, marriage is a sacred thing. Now I have been trying to rattifies... rattif... see, I tried to change the constitution to state marriage should be between a man and a woman." Bush stated that it takes a man and a woman to make a marriage under God.Bush, who was addressing an almost-empty White House press room on Sunday, said he was fine with gays complaining that they can't get married, "but California and Massachusetts are ruining the fabric of America with their pro-same-sex-marriage laws." Bush emphasized that Congress must act to set a precedent before the states create a "patchwork" of ruined communities "across this great land." Bush suggests to make each gay marriage count 3/5 of a "normal" marriage.
The gay community has responded with demonstrations in a number of U.S. cities, including Dallas, Portland, Boston, NYC and Philadelphia. Lisa Cruz, a protester in San Fransisco, said she was appalled by the suggestion that gay marriages would count for 3/5 a marriage. "It is insulting to gays, saying we count as much as 3/5 straight citizens."
There were also outcries by those who believe that Bush has given gay marriages too much power. "i dont think gays should even have 3/5 representation," user T-BONE wrote in a Yahoo! web forum Protect Marriage in the U.S. From the Gay Taint. "bush is scared about this 'patchwork' individual pro-gay states would make of this country, but what he is proposing is to making a 3/5 quilt no one should have to live under. god wouldn't even be able to see us to help us through Satan's 3/5 quilt."
Jesse Jackson was interviewed on Fox News Sunday night. "I remember when they did this to my people with regards to our vote, and I proclaim it was as wrong then as it is now." When asked if he thought there was any validity to the gay community's response, Jackson said, "Gays aren't worthy one fifth of a marriage. They are talking down to the straight people. The gays are talking down to straight people."
Bush said he hopes the law will be passed before he leaves office so the country will be united when his second term is up.
"It makes no sense," MSNBC host Keith Olbermann said. "How that would even work? Three fifths? Mr. President, you're a boob."

In a few years these ignorant hate mongers just might wake up & realize that being against equality on any level is unacceptable. Perhaps we can speed up the process a little. Education is key on this issue. For those who are still uncomfortable with gay marriage check out our short produced to educate & defuse the controversy. It has a way of opening closed minds & provides some sanity on the issue:) www.OUTTAKEonline.com
Werent women once 3/5 of a vote?
And slaves counted as 3/5 of a white man?
Yes, blacks had 3/5 a vote. I think all Americans should have 3/5 a vote.

I should have 7/5 of a vote, since I'm clearly smarter than women and homosexuals.
