J.C.: Olympic Judges are Terrible!!
I was watching the gymnastics, though, and they are just painful because the judges are horrible! Yuck!
I won't even talk about how the judges seem to reeeeeaally favor the Chinese gymnasts, like He, over the non-Chinese gymnasts. Like the American. Gymnasts. And the American gymnasts are so much better and cuter! I mean, did that Chinese girl win the individual vault by landing on her knees the second time? What the heck? ;-( So, I won't even talk about how the scoring has favored those Chinese gymnasts over the non-Chinese gymnasts. Like the American. Gymnasts.
I have two problems beyond that favoritism stuff. First is that the judges have little experience. The rules say that there can't be a judge from a country the competing gymnasts are from. Dumb! :-( So, when China, America, Romania, Russia, Japan, Australia, France and Brazil are performing in the final, no judges can come from those countries where people know what they are talking about! I mean, the judges for the finals were probably like from, like, Ghana, Ethiopia, Ireland, Eastern Germany and... like... Hong Kong. It's just dumb.
Why don't they make me the judge for construction competitions? It's just as dumb.
The other major problem I have is the tie breaker. All the other Olympic sports allow for multiple medals. TWO winners! Yay! Gymnastics, though, doesn't allow that. Instead, they have a complicated system where they cancel out the top and lowest judges scores for the tied athletes. Then, I don't know why, they take off the lowest remaining score. You're left with three scores and they are averaged. That determines the winner. THAT does!
That is why beautiful American Nastia lost to under-age He from China. It's not fair because Nastia's routine was better, but those know-nothing judges handed the slight advantages to He and Nastia came in second for uneven bars, individual, even though their scores came out identical on the score boards.
It's just silly. I hope they fix it for the next one!
