Tall Building: Dancing Tower (Kuwait)

| | Comments (3) | | | |
I'm way into big buildings.  They do a lot more for a city's character and future than most people recognize.  So, I think it's HAWTaction [hot ak-shuhn] to keep tabs on new projects like the Tall Building Update, City of Silk, Shanghai Tower, Russia Tower, Anara Tower, Okhta Tower, Nakheel Harbour and Tower, Bahrain WTC, Honeycomb SkyscraperBurj Dubai... in Dubai... in Pictures, CCTV and TVCC Towers, Tokyo Sky Tree, Burj Dubai (Revisited), Dancing Towers, Dynamic Tower, Dubai Towers, The Lighthouse (Paris), The Lighthouse (Dubai), Antilla, London's Super Tower, Eiffel Tower, Shuffle Tower, Full Moon, Caspian Bay, Chicago Spire, Chicago's Aqua Tower, Infinity Tower, Teardrop, Christmas Tree or the Burj Dubai.

Wow.  There is an oasis in this Tall Building desert, and it's coming from Kuwait City.  What is the oil money building there?  Well, it's a meager $160 million building called the Dancing Tower:

Dancing Tower.jpgMe liiiiiiiiiiiike-y.  That is some sass.

Now, don't confuse this with the Dancing Towers in Dubai; this is a new project with a shortage of creativity in its naming.  Not much information has been released about the project, but the Tall Building series is insisting I reach out and embrace this oasis with an air-tight bear hug.  Let's take a look.
As you can see, there are two curvaceous towers here, one 50 and one 63 floors tall.  Together, they combine to 5,600 square meters (60,300 square feet) and will house a 5-star hotel, a commercial market and sassy office space.

I told you the details were sparse.  No more pictures.  No floor plans.  Nothing else.  Let's embrace it, though!  This beauty's expected to be done in 4 years, according to the owers: Al-Shahed Real Estate Company.  Maybe we add this to the HAWT field trip, Jason?  Meh.... maybe not.  Let's wait for more details before we commit to that.  There are other Tall Building posts calling our attention.

We welcome the Dancing Tower, regardless.

This can be added to the Hawt field trip, sure...

Although, it does look like a bowling pin.

Interesting link, Taqiyyotomist.
